It was wonderful! Spencer had 11 days off so to the island we headed.
We started off our winter break with a night at the Four Seasons and a wander around Vancouver before we headed to Flattop to stay. A well needed get away and cozy night for the three of us.
And then the craziness began.
Christmas Eve was it's usual, a fantastic Ukrainian Feast with the Mylymok and McLean families. Wonderful to see everyone, catch up and celebrate with the two families. I really look forward to this evening.
We started Christmas day at Spencer's parents with the Houles. Lots of chatter, heated up leftovers from the night before and watching the kids open their gifts, a few too many for the adults as well! It was great to see McLean getting into the tissue paper and opening his gifts, so proud that he could do it himself!
By noon we were off to Grandpa Bob and G's for more celebrating and visiting with family. Aunty, Linda, Uncle Brian and Kevin, as well as Nanny, were there. The highlight here was watching Mac trying to figure out the antlers on everyone's heads (thought up my my Mom and Aunt a few years ago, instead of paper hats in the crackers, this is what we wear throughout dinner!)
Back to Flattop we went boxing day. There were many visits throughout the next week, with the Armstrong's, the Davidson's, Aunty Peggy and Bradshaw, lots of family, and a 30th birthday celebration for me! (A birthday brekkie with both families followed by a night at the Ocean Point for S and I, and a pedicure from my son the next day! For 24 glorious hours Spencer and I snuck away leaving Mac with Gran and Pops, just enjoying one another's company, not something we get to do too often!)
It was a wonderful time, but boy were we exhausted by the time we got home! (From the island that is, not the night away, I just realized how that sounded.)
Hopefully Aunty T will send us some more pictures, so we can add those. Once home we realized how few we had taken. Too busy enjoying ourselves I guess. Hope you enjoy these few!
A Happy and Healthy New Year to All!
