Christmas Eve

Is always the big celebration at the Mylymok household, and the meal/celebration Spencer looks forward to the most. It is when we have our Ukrainian Christmas dinner. This year, since Spencer had to work Christmas we were celebrating the holiday in Sechelt on our own, and I did my best to make it special for our family.
While I may not have had 12 meatless dishes (there were nine) and it may not have been as good as my mil's food, it was an evening for us to remember. Our first Christmas away from family, on our own and it went off with out a hitch. I had even secretly borrowed one of Pops Ukrainian shirts for Spencer to wear at dinner (just like his Dad always does), S remembered to set a place for those who are no longer with us, but always loved and remembered and did an excellent toast to all. The crackers were forgotten on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, so are stuffed and ready for next year! Here are a couple of pics from dinner and then in Christmas jammies sent along by Gran for all of us.
