Suited up and ready to go.
What is Cops for Cancer?
Each fall, police and emergency services personnel volunteer to cycle hundreds of kilometers on a pre-designated route through BC communities over the course of several days and nights, to raise money to fund pediatric cancer research and programs that help children and families. Each rider is expected to raise $10,000 on their own, before the race begins, and is also paired with a buddy in their community, a child who has gone through, or is currently having cancer treatment.
A family carnival-type event, a pub night, head shaves, silent auctions and raffles were all part of the fund raising and preparation. ( Come on, because we all know Spencer, he just went out and did this without a lot of physical training. I am sure he'll have a bit of a funny walk when he returns home!)
His group is called the Tour de Coast and in an eight day period rides over 600 km through Whistler, the Lower Mainland and the Sunshine Coast.
To learn more about the tour, you can check out the Canadian Cancer Society website at:

So, keep him in your thoughts, that all the riders are safe, the communities they visit are generous towards the cause and that another child is helped. Thanks!
